National Service Scheme provides an opportunity to the students of this college to understand the community; identify its needs and problems as well as the solutions in which they can be involved by assuming social and civic responsibilities. NSS also provides students with the opportunity to apply their education in finding practical solutions to the problems faced by the individuals and the community at large.
NSS aims at arousing social consciousness of the youth with an overall objective of personality development through community service. NSS enables students to participate in various programmes of social service and national development, and to help the community.
The students of Agriculture college organizing Voluntary Blood Donation Camp regularly every year on occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2011. This drive is organizing keeping in mind our corporate social responsibility and tradition.
Faculty members as well as students are participated in the camp. Trained professional from Dr. Vikhe Patil Memorial hospital are present for the camp. They first check the vital signs of the donors and then start the blood donation drive. The blood is donated to Dr. Vikhe Patil Memorial hospital Blood Bank.
The Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme is organized every year for the Under Graduate students of various degree programme of college of Agriculture, Viladghat in their final year VII semester.
This programme has gained much importance and popularity among the farmers and extension workers as RAWE has helped to strengthen the linkage mechanism among the partners of technology generation and dissemination process. Further, this system has enabled the university to communicate appropriate feedback and impact points to the extension system for refinement of technologies.
In a joint efforts put by College of agriculture, Viladghat and Dr. Vitthalrao vikhe patil foundation, Viladghat the programme of Krushi Din (July 1) was inaugurated on July 1 to mark the birth anniversary (Jayanti) of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vasantrao Naik. The programme was presided over by Principal, COA, Viladghat.
Various guest speakers expressed their views on this occasion and dwelt on agriculture related issues like crop management, manures, improved seeds, water resources, irrigation, kisan-portal, farmers’ company, agro-supplementary vocations, latest technical know-how, etc.
